「タマゴボーロ」育ての親、竹田和平さん死去 「日本一の個人投資家」とも

子ども向けのお菓子「タマゴボーロ」育ての親と言われ、竹田本社会長の竹田和平(たけだ・わへい)さんが7月21日、名古屋市内の自宅にて老衰で死去した。83歳だった。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

竹田さんは1952年、名古屋市で竹田製菓(現:竹田本社)を設立。「タマゴボーロ」をヒット商品に育てあげた。折しも60年代後半から出生率の増加(第二次ベビーブーム)もあり、タマゴボーロは離乳食として全国に広まった。また70年代にはウェハース「麦ふぁ~」も発売し、定番商品となった。86年には愛知県犬山市にテーマパーク「お菓子の城」をオープンした。

経営の一線から退いた後は、自身の資産を元手に投資家として活躍。一時は100以上の企業に投資し、「日本一の個人投資家」「日本のウォーレン・バフェット」とも呼ばれ、その投資姿勢から尊敬を集めた。
