AP通信によると、噴火の影響で13人が死亡し、7人が行方不明。57人が病院搬送され、うち16人が重度の火傷を負っているという。

インドネシアのジャワ島で12月4日、スメル火山が噴火した。

AP通信によると、噴火の影響で13人が死亡し、7人が行方不明。57人が病院搬送され、うち16人が重度の火傷を負っているという。

噴火によって広がった、分厚い円柱をなした火山灰は、上空1万2000メートルもの高さまで立ち昇ったという。焦げ付くようなガスや溶岩が山の斜面を伝って流れ落ちた。

BBCによると、少なくとも11の村が降り注ぐ火山灰に覆われ、家々が沈没したという。救助作業は難航し、行き場を失った人たちは、避難場所を求めてモスクや仮設避難所に追いやられている。
