約20年間ランウェイを歩き、世界中のファッションショーや雑誌で活躍してきたトップモデル、ジゼル・ブンチェンが4月15日、出身地ブラジルのファッションショーで最後のランウェイを歩いた。NHKなどが報じた。
ジゼルは、34歳になった2015年、ファッションショーからの引退を決意。最後のショーで、白いミニのワンピースなどを披露。2児の母親でもあるジゼルは、夫でNFLで活躍するトム・ブレイディ選手（画像）に見守られながら、ランウェイを歩いた。
ショーの最後には、自身の姿がデザインされたTシャツを着て登場。仲間のモデルたちや観客から大きな拍手が送られ、目に涙を浮かべた。

アメリカの経済誌が発表した世界のモデルランキングによると、ジゼルの2014年の年収は4700万ドル（56億円余り）。8年連続でトップとなったことでも知られる。
ジゼルは、モデル業を完全にやめてしまうわけではなく、広告モデル等の仕事は継続する。AFPによれば、「シャネル」をはじめ、「H&M」などと契約を結んでいるほか、大手フットウェアメーカーと提携し、サンダルのデザインも手がけているという。
ランウェイの前日、ジゼルは14歳のときの写真をInstagramを投稿。仕事で世界を飛び回ってきた20年間を振り返りながら、「最後のファッションショーができることを光栄に思う」などとコメントした。
