A boat arrives in the port of the Italian island of Lampedusa at sunset on October 25, 2013. There are currently three navy vessels on patrol, along with six coast guard patrol boats and six border guard patrol boats, as well as helicopters and planes from each of the three agencies patrolling the area as part of the new \'Mare Nostrum\' surveillance and rescue operation, launched after more than 400 migrants drowned in two disasters earlier this month.
