巨額の賞金が当たる米国の宝くじ「メガミリオンズ」で、史上2番目の高額となる6億4800万ドル(約674億円)の大当たり(ジャックポット)が出て、1枚だけ1ドルで購入した女性が当選した。当たりはもう1枚出ており賞金は分割される。米メディアが18日伝えた。

「メガミリオンズ」は、1枚1ドルで購入できる、自分で6つの数字を選ぶ宝くじだだ。すべての数字が的中する確率は極めて低いが、今回は2枚の当選券が出たという。

アメリカの「メガ・ミリオンズ」と呼ばれる宝くじは、1枚1ドル(日本円で100円余り)で買え、1から75までの数字の中から5つを、さらに1から15までのうち1つを選びます。

6つの数字の組み合わせが、すべて的中する確率は、およそ2億5900万分の1と難関ですが、17日に行われた抽せんで、2枚の当せん券が出ました。

当選したのは、ジョージア州に住む女性。オフィスビルにある小さな売店で、1枚だけ購入したという。獲得金額125億円は、一括での支払いを希望している。

南部ジョージア州に住むアイラ・カリーさん(56)はオフィスビルにある小さな売店で、家族の誕生日や「ラッキー7」を組み合わせた数字の宝くじを購入。18日、車で通勤途中にラジオで当選番号に「7」が含まれていると知り、娘に確認してもらい当選を知った。



カリーさんは取材に応じていないが、運営団体によると、使い道は未定。一括での支払いを希望しており、税金が引かれた後の獲得金額は約1億2千万ドル(約125億円)になるという。
