ニューヨークのメトロポリタン美術館で5月1日（現地時間）、ファッションの祭典「MET GALA」が開催された。
2017年のテーマは「レイ・カワクボ / コムデギャルソン アート・オブ・インビトゥイーン」。ファッションブランド「コム デ ギャルソン」の創設者でデザイナーの川久保玲をフィーチャーした。
ニューヨークタイムズ紙によれば、川久保氏は生存するデザイナーとして、METでソロのショーをする2人目となる。ちなみに1人目は1983年のイヴ・サン＝ローラン氏だそうだ。
歌手のリアーナは、コム デ ギャルソンのアーティスティックなドレスを見事に着こなし注目を集めた。
