写真家のウルリック・コレット氏は、自身の家族を用い、祖母と孫娘の容貌が驚くほど似ている様子を捉えた画像を制作した。その結果をご覧になってほしい。

コレット氏は米ハフィントンに対して、電子メールでこう説明してくれた。

「この写真を撮影したのは昨年なのだが、当時、母のジネットは62歳で、娘のイスマエルは12歳だった。私が2人を撮影したのは、ある遺伝学者と話した際に、『孫は、その父方の祖母と似た容貌を持つ傾向が強い』という説を聞いたのがきっかけだ。自分の家族で確認してみたいと思い、実際に試してみたところ、結果は驚くべきものだった」

コレット氏が、家族同士が似ていることからインスピレーションを得たのは今回が初めてではない。同氏が過去に制作したシリーズ『Genetic Portraits』(遺伝的な肖像写真)では、家族同士をさまざまな組み合わせ方で合成した写真が作られている。以下で紹介しよう。
