世界で最も影響力がある旅行雑誌の一つとされるアメリカの「トラベル＋レジャー（T＋L）」は7月2日、読者による世界の観光都市の人気投票の結果を発表、京都が初の1位となった。
「T＋L」はニューヨークを拠点に全米で約100万部を発行する月刊誌。人気投票「ワールド・ベスト・アワード」は1995年から実施されている。

There are hardly any tourists, which I, for some jaded reason, despise as a rule. Also, the extreme heat and weather patterns of the area seemed to make for the most unusual sky configurations. Duomo di Firenze ~ Florence, Italy\n\nView Large On Black\n\nOlympus E-30, Zuiko 12-60\n\nLong time no post... or I should say no time to process photos, no post ;) We\'re on the roads almost each and every weekend in the last weeks. This past weekend we visited Tuscany - round trip with 2 other couples. Not a dedicated photo trip but it was amazing time spent with great friends. We took accommodation in three places - Florence, Siena and Pisa. So the schedule was very busy in 4 days total. My personal highlight was San Gimigniano on a way from Siena to Pisa.\n\nThis photo was taken from Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence and features "The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is the cathedral church (Duomo) of Florence, Italy, begun in 1296 in the Gothic style to the design of Arnolfo di Cambio and completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink bordered by white and has an elaborate 19th century Gothic Revival facade by Emilio De Fabris... The cathedral complex includes the Baptistry and Giotto\'s Campanile. The three buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site covering the historic centre of Florence and are a major attraction to tourists visiting the region of Tuscany. The basilica is one of Italy\'s largest churches, and until the modern era, the dome was the largest in the world. There\'s a blue one, too, and I have an older, not-so-good quality one in the Charleston set. There are other colors, also, I believe, but I didn\'t get any decent photos of them.\n\nThis photo was enhanced a little, using The Gimp.
