100歳のドロシー・チャンドラー・コリンズさんは、80年前の自分に会えたらこう言いたいそうだ。「人生に男性はいらない」
アメリカ・ノースカロライナ州のロッキー・マウントに住むドロシーさんは、8月13日に100歳になった。テレビ局ABCのニュース番組に「80年前の自分に会えたらどんなアドバイスするか」を尋ねられ、彼女はこう答えた。
「そうですね、こう言うでしょう。『男の子たちに、私を放っておくよう言いなさい。男の子はいりません！いない方がずっとうまくいきます。こちらを怒らせるだけなんだから。男の子なんていない方がいいのよ』」
実は、以前にも別のご長寿が「男性は必要ない」と言うアドバイスをしている。2015年、当時109歳だったジェシー・ギャランさんが長寿の秘訣を聞かれ、運動と毎日のおかゆ、それに「男性を避けること」と話した。彼女も、男性は問題ばかり引き起こす人達だから、と話している。
人生を100年以上生きた人ふたりからのアドバイスだ。重みを感じる。
