彼女は介護付きの生活や治療を断ることを決め、息子のティム、義理の娘のラミー、そして2人の子供の8歳となるプードルとリンゴと一緒に、モーターボートで長旅に出ることにした。

医者が、この勇敢な高齢の女性に「どの治療をしたいか」を聞いたところ、身長約150センチで約45キロの彼女はこういった。「私は旅に出ます！」

8月以降、彼らは約9600キロ以上も移動しており、すぐに旅をやめるつもりはありません。
