FacebookのCEOであるマーク・ザッカーバーグ氏は11月6日、アメリカ本社で「Q&A with Mark」を開催し、一般ユーザーからの質問に答えた。なかには「なぜザッカーバーグ氏は、毎日同じTシャツを着ているのか」というものもあり観客を沸かせたが、ザッカーバーグ氏は着るものについて「エネルギーを使うのは無駄」と回答した。

ザッカーバーグ氏は普段、グレーのTシャツや黒のトレーナーを着ており、過去には、全く同じTシャツを20枚も持っていることも明かしている。そのため、2011年には男性誌GQによる「シリコンバレーのワースト・ドレッサー15人」の一人にも選ばれた。

毎日同じTシャツを着る理由についてザッカーバーグ氏は、「私は今、Facebookのなかでも幸運なポジションにある」とした上で「くだらないことや、うわついたことに時間を使うと、自分の仕事をしていない気がする。私はFacebookを良くすることに全ての時間を使いたい」と述べた。

また、仕事以外の意思決定の回数を少なくしたいという考えを示し、「できるだけ決断の数を少なくしたい。朝食に何を食べるかとか、どんな服を着るかとかいう小さい決断は、エネルギーを消費する」と述べた。

ザッカーバーグ氏は、Apple創業者のスティーブ·ジョブズ氏やオバマ大統領をあげ、彼らも衣装を選ぶ際には同様の理論を持っていると指摘した。

なお、この日は「Facebookの映画は本当だったのか」という質問をする人もおり、ザッカーバーグ氏は「映画を面白くするために様々なエピソードが追加されており、傷ついた部分もあった」としたが、「映画そのものは面白かった」と述べた。
