■そもそも「ブリオッシュ」って、どんなパン？

オーストリアで生まれてフランスで広まった「ブリオッシュ」は、卵とバター、砂糖をたっぷり使用した菓子パンの一種。サクサクとした食感で口どけがよいのが特徴です。また、上部がポコッと出て"僧侶の頭"を意味する「ブリオッシュ・ア・テット」、王冠形の「クローンヌ」、パウンド形の「ナンテール」、円筒形の「ムスリーヌ」など地方によってさまざまな形があります。

とても甘いので日本では菓子パンのイメージが強いですが、フランスではフォアグラやスープと一緒に出されたり、明太マヨネーズやイワシの網焼きをサンドして食べたりすることも多いそう。バターと卵もたっぷりで、カロリーもたっぷりなちょっとリッチなパンなのです。
