ストスとストっと、見事な逆立ち歩きは、動画にて。

この義足を履いた猫さんは「Boots」という名の女の子。生後10日ごろ、保護ボランティアのところで保護された際には、すでに、2本の後脚は失われていたそうです。事故によるものか、それがどんな原因かは、推察するしかありませんが、Megan Brocatoさんは、「ドアに挟まったとか、リクライニングに挟まれてしまったとか、人為的なものではないとことが原因だと、信じたい」と語っています。

脚が失われていたため、最初に保護されたボランティアのところから、別のレスキューチームのところへ移されていたBoots。現在の飼い主Megan Brocatoさんと出会い、一緒に暮らすようになったのは、生後5〜6週間目のころでした。

そして、彼女の後脚には、青い義足がつけられました。その義足を使って歩く様子が動画で公開されています。

階段を下りるときは、こんな風に、逆立ち歩きで下りるようです。

飼い主さんによれば、最初は、義足を使って歩くことを再学習するのは大変でしたが、今ではすっかり使いこなしているそうです。
