上の早送り動画を見てほしい。エステラさんは、100日間にわたって毎日腕立て伏せを続けたことで、最後には、最初は考えられなかったほど巧みに腕立て伏せができるようになったのだ。

この動画は、カレン・チェンさんが運営するサイト「Give it 100」に投稿されたものだ。このサイトは、一般の人たちが、100日間でどれだけのことを達成できるかを、毎日10秒間のビデオを投稿しながら記録していく場所だ。

サイトオーナーのチェンさんは2013年に、自分自身のダンスの進化を1年間記録した動画で有名になった(以下の動画)。感銘を受けた人々が彼女の元に、自分の達成を記録した動画を送りはじめ、それが「Give it 100」の始まりになった。

Give it 100ではほかにも、リハビリで歩けるようになった女性や、減量に成功した動画などが投稿されている。

エステラさんの動画を見て、自分もやってみたくなった人は、腕立て伏せをしてみよう。スライドショーでは、最初に間違ったフォーム、次のページで正しいフォームを見ることができる。体を弓なりにせず、胸から先に床に降ろすようにし、おへそは背骨に向かってひきあげるようにすることで、コアマッスルを鍛えることができるという。
