写真で紹介されたオバマ大統領夫人・ミシェルさんは、3月に来日した際に、母親であることについて、次のように語っている。

「仕事を続けることで、母親としても成長できました。私自身が夢を追求することで、娘たちに自分の夢を追求する手本を示すことができたからです」

「母親であることで、職業人として成長できました。毎晩帰宅して娘たちと接することで、働く目的を再確認できたからです」
