同性愛者、性同一性障害などの性的マイノリティー（LGBT）は、全体の7.6％にのぼる。
こんな最新の調査結果を、「電通ダイバーシティ・ラボ」が全国約7万人へのアンケートをもとにまとめた。
それによると、セクシュアル・マイノリティーの内訳は以下の通り。
「その他」とは、図のどのカテゴリーにも該当せず、Xジェンダー（男女どちらとも決めたくない人）、インターセクシュアル（体の性がどちらとも言えない人）、アセクシュアル（無性愛者）、クエスチョン（心の性や性的指向がわからなかったり、迷っていたりする人）などが含まれる。
電通総研は2012年に、LGBTに該当する人が全体の5.2％とする調査結果を発表している。
チーフ・マーケティング・プランナーの阿佐見綾香さんは、前回調査より増えたことについて「前回調査からの3年間で、渋谷区の同性パートナーシップ条例の制定や、アップルのティム・クックCEOら、社会的影響力のある人がカミングアウト（LGBTであることを公言）するなど、情報に触れることが多くなった。これまで違和感を持ったまま生きていた人が、気づくきっかけになった」と推測する。
また「前回の調査よりも機械的に細かく分類したため、前回の調査で浮かび上がらなかった層が浮上してきた」という。その結果、前回調査で4.1％だった「トランスジェンダー」が大きく減少した。
■LGBT市場は5.94兆円 社会的受容で生まれる「レインボー消費」も
調査では今回、LGBT層の消費傾向などを分析し、「LGBT市場」を5.94兆円とする推計をまとめた。
内訳で多かったのは、自宅での食費約2兆2000億円、車・バイク6297億円、医療・保健5216億円、外食4532億円など。
一般層に比べ、家電・AV機器、家具・インテリア、化粧品、カルチャーなどの消費額が多くなる傾向があるという。電通総研主任研究員の村越力さんは「LGBTには日本の人口の7％分にあたる消費パワーがある。エクササイズやアクセサリー、ペット・ガーデニング、化粧品やAV・テレビゲーム、自宅での食費や飲料など家の中での暮らしにお金をかけ、インドアでアクティブに過ごす傾向が裏付けられた」とみる。
LGBT当事者の消費のほか、同性カップルの結婚式や住宅需要が増えるなど、LGBTが社会に受容されることで増える消費、LGBTやアライ層（LGBTを理解し、支援する人々）との交流で生まれる「レインボー消費」の存在が浮かび上がったとする。
今回調査では、LGBT以外の一般層でも「同性カップルを含めたあらゆる層を対象にした商品を提供する企業を支援したい」と答えた人が「異性カップルだけを対象にした商品を提供する企業を支援したい」と答えた人の倍以上にのぼるなど、LGBTフレンドリーな企業が、一般層に好意的に受け入れられていることが判明したという。
電通総研研究主席の伊藤義博さんは「2012年の時点では、『LGBTの当事者を攻略せよ』という視点だったのが、今年はより踏み込んで、ともに生きやすい社会を作ろうという意見に共感する人が増え、消費傾向としても無視できない動きになっていることが裏付けられた。ファッションブランドがLGBTを応援するキャンペーンも市場全体の活性化につながるなど、『レインボー消費』の形が見えてきた」と概括している。
調査は2015年4月7、8の両日、全国の20〜59歳の男女69989人を対象に、インターネットで調査。LGBTに該当する500人と、ストレートの400人を抽出して追加質問を実施した。
詳細な調査結果の数値は後日発表する。電通ダイバーシティ・ラボのウェブマガジン「cococolor」にも順次掲載される。
