式後の記者会見で、一ノ瀬は「あんなに大きな拍手は聞いたことがない」と、喜びで涙をぬぐった。誓いのキスは「照れちゃって、一瞬でした。一瞬すぎて笑いが起きてました」と振り返った。
セクシュアル・マイノリティの結婚が議論となる中、2人は「これから同性婚を望む人が、もっとやりやすい世の中になってほしい」と語った。日本では同性婚が法的に認められていないが、「今週中に婚姻届を出しに行く」という。杉森は「やってみないとわからない。不受理の気持ちから、その悲しい気持ちから、また新しいことができるかなと思う」などと展望を語った。
