10月5日のF1日本GP決勝でクラッシュし、意識不明の重体となったジュール・ビアンキ選手が人工的な昏睡状態を脱し、入院先の三重県立総合医療センターからフランスの病院に転院したことが明らかになった。
ジュール選手の家族が11月18日、ファンクラブのFacebookで「ジュールは、今はもう事故直後に置かれた人工的な昏睡状態ではありません。ただ、彼の意識は未だに戻っていません」という声明を出した。
依然として危篤状態ではあるものの自発呼吸し、血圧や心拍なども安定しているという。
