エリザベス女王は6月19日の国会開会式で、伝統的な服装に身を包まず、王室ファッションの慣例を破る予定だ。

君主国家は伝統の上に育まれている。しかし、もしその全てのルールを破れる人物が存在するとしたら、それは他ならぬ女王陛下だ。

テレグラフによると、エリザベス女王は6月19日の国会開会式で、伝統的な服装に身を包まず、王室ファッションの慣例を破る予定だ。

2016年5月18日、ロンドン中心部で開かれた国会開会式で伝統的な服装に身を包みスピーチをするエリザベス女王二世。

エリザベス女王は、伝統的な服装である大英帝国王冠、ローブ、宝剣、そして式典用帽子の代わりに、デイ・ドレスと帽子を着用すると予想されている。

秋に公務から引退することが発表された、フィリップ殿下もまた、海軍制服の代わりにカジュアルにモーニング・コートを着用されると雑誌「Elle」は報じている。伝統的な式典で女王が正装をしないのは、1974年以来初めてのことになるだろう。

しかし宝飾品は、国会開会式の場に持ち込まれる予定だ。リファイナリー29によると、式典中は役人が大英帝国王冠、宝剣、そして式典用帽子を持ち運ぶ予定だ。

バッキンガム宮殿によると、通常、国会開会式と同じ日にガーター勲章授与式が開催されるが、この式は女王の夏のスケジュールを調整するためキャンセルとされた。

「議会と立憲過程を支援するべく式典に参加するため、女王の予定が見直しされた」「また、予定を見直したため国会開会式は式典的要素を減らして開催される予定だ」と、文書に書かれている。

総選挙の11日後、かつ6月17日に始まる女王の公式誕生日会の2日後に国会を開会するのは、今までで最も日程が詰まっている。

来年は通常どおりに戻ると予想されている。
