8月21日にリオデジャネイロ・オリンピックの陸上男子マラソンにカンボジア代表として初出場し、完走したお笑いタレントの猫ひろし（39）＝本名滝崎邦明＝が競技終了後、自身のTwitterを更新し、多くの声援へ感謝やゴール直後のパフォーマンスの様子などを伝えた。
猫は2時間45分55秒、完走した140人中、ブービーの139位でゴールした。ゴール時に両手を上げ、お得意の「にゃー」のポーズをして会場を沸かせた。Twitterでは、ゴール直後に写真撮影会まで行われるなど、現地で大人気となった様子が投稿された。
ゴール後、ブラジル人たちからの大声援に答え、急遽サイン会を開いた様子をアップした。
猫は、開会式ではカンボジア選手団の紫の衣装を着て、にこやかに手を振っていた。
