全日本スキー連盟（SAJ）の強化指定を受けている未成年のスノーボード男子選手が2015年12月、アメリカのコロラド州での遠征中に大麻を使用した疑いが持たれている。この問題でSAJは27日、未成年のスノーボード男子選手2人に対し「無期限の会員登録停止と競技者登録の停止」「SAJの強化指定の取り消し」「日本オリンピック委員会（JOC）の強化指定の解除」の処分を科すと発表した。
時事ドットコムニュースによると、2人とも毛髪鑑定で大麻を使用した痕跡が認められたが、うち1人は使用を否定しているという。
大麻は、世界反ドーピング機関（WADA）の禁止薬物リストに含まれ、「競技会（時）に禁止される物質」に指定されている。日本国内では所持、使用が大麻取締法で規制されているが、コロラド州では21歳以上であれば酒やたばこ同様に、嗜好品として合法化されている。
テレ朝newsによると、選手2人の氏名は未成年のため公表しない方針だという。
■日本のスノーボード界、大麻問題は過去にも
日本のスノーボード界ではトリノオリンピック前年の2005年、当時19歳だった男子選手がドーピング検査で大麻成分が検出され、国際スキー連盟（FIS）から10カ月の資格停止処分を科されたことがある。選手自身は使用を否定し、処分後に復帰。トリノオリンピック出場を果たした。2014年にはスノーボード全日本選手権の元王者が大麻取締法違反容疑で逮捕された。
