北半球が猛暑「30年に1回の異常高温」 気象庁「温暖化も一因」と指摘

8月13日には4日連続で最高気温が40度を突破するなど、日本列島全体が猛烈な暑さになっている。8月12日には高知県四万十市で41.0度を記録。日本の観測史上の最高気温をマークした。だが実は記録的な猛暑を迎えているのは日本だけではない。地球の北半球各地が猛暑を迎えているのだ。

8月13日には4日連続で最高気温が40度を突破するなど、日本列島全体が猛烈な暑さになっている。8月12日には高知県四万十市で41.0度を記録。日本の観測史上の最高気温をマークした。だが実は記録的な猛暑を迎えているのは日本だけではない。地球の北半球各地が猛暑を迎えているのだ。

AFP通信がGlobalPostに配信した記事によると、8月7日にはオーストリア国内でも観測史上最高の気温を記録。最高気温40.6度となった。

またAFP BBNewsの8月12日の記事では、中国中部でも記録的な熱波について報じた。気温が40度を超える猛暑が続き、動物園のパンダは大きな氷の塊に張り付いて暑さをしのいでいるという。

こうした世界的な猛暑について、産経新聞は「上空1万メートル付近で地球を1周して吹いている偏西風の蛇行」が原因と分析した上で、次のように書いている。

猛暑の地域では偏西風が北側へ蛇行しており、南側の高温域から高気圧に覆われて気温が上昇する。偏西風は年間を通じて蛇行しているが、一定期間続くと高気圧が停滞し、猛暑になるという。

偏西風の蛇行は大気の対流活動が影響を与えると考えられているが、詳しい要因は分かっておらず、予測するのは難しい。気象庁は「地球温暖化も猛暑の一因。異常高温は各地点で３０年に１度の規模だが、世界レベルではどこかで常に起こっている」としている。
