バンコク中心部で起きた爆弾テロについて、タイ警察は8月29日、事件に関与した疑いでアダム・カラダグ容疑者(28)の身柄を拘束したと発表した

タイ警察の報道担当者によると、警察はバンコク市内にある同容疑者のアパートを捜索し、起爆装置や金属管など、爆発物作成に使ったとみられるものを発見した。BBCは、男がパスポート10冊を保有していたと伝えている。

国籍は不明。男は取り調べに対し、黙秘を続けているという。

爆弾テロは17日、バンコク中心部のヒンズー教の施設付近で発生。中国人ら外国人を含む20人が死亡、約130人が負傷した

警察は男の似顔絵などを公開。犯人逮捕につながる情報提供者への懸賞金を300万バーツ(約1000万円)に引き上げ、男の捜索に全力を挙げていた。28日には、当局は事件発生前の2週間以内に入国した約20人のトルコ人に関心を寄せていると報じられていた
