カナダのホエール・ウォッチャーは、決して忘れられない光景を目の前にした。その時、ザトウクジラが彼らのボートのすぐ隣で後方宙返りした。まるで空中浮揚していたかのようだ。

この動画はノバスコシア州沖のファンディ湾でのホエール・ウオッチング・ツアーで、トロントのサンディ・セレガさんが撮影した。

ニューブランズウイック保護評議会がこの動画をYouTubeに投稿した。評議会よると、エネルギー企業「トランス・カナダ」が計画するエネルギー・イースト・パイプラインができれば、その海域で「クジラはるかに慌ただしく、危険に」なるという。

「びっくりするような写真ですよね? 二度と忘れることのできない瞬間です」とグラハムさんはCBCに語った。

「これまでもクジラが跳躍するのを見たことはあります。でも、それは加工された画像でした」とグラハムさんはウエザー・ネットワークに語った。「このクジラは私たちの方に向かってきたんです。そして空中で回転したんです」
