右翼系「ブライトバート・ニュース」フランス版の設立阻止のため、学生がドメイン取得

「ブライトバート・ニュース」前会長のスティーブン・バノン氏

4〜5月のフランス大統領選挙に先立ち、過激な右翼系ニュースサイト「ブライトバート・ニュース」がフランス国内でウェブサイトを立ち上げるのを阻止するため、ある学生が「ブライトバート・フランス」のWebドメインを取得したという。

ブライトバート・ニュース」は2016年11月、フランスとドイツでサイトを立ち上げる計画を発表した。これは、アメリカのドナルド・トランプ大統領の選挙戦でブライトバート・ニュースがオルタナ右翼の支持者獲得などに成功したことを受けてのもので、移民排斥やポリティカル・コレクトネスへの反発を主張するニュースをヨーロッパでも拡散させようとしている。

ブライトバート・ニュース前会長で、白人至上主義者のスティーブン・バノン氏は、トランプ政権の最高責任者になるために職を離れ、今はホワイトハウスの首席戦略官だ。

アントニンという名前しか明かされていない22歳の男子学生は、テック系ニュースサイト『ザ・バージ』に対し、ブライトバート・ニュースがフランス大統領選に及ぼす影響を抑えるため、「breitbart.fr」「breitbartnews.fr」「breitbartnewsnetwork.fr」というドメインを取得したと伝えた。

「フランスでのサイト立ち上げ計画を知った時、本当に恐ろしく思いました。彼らのやることが、フランスでもうまくいってしまうかもしれないと考えたからです」と、アントニン氏は語った。

「だから、すぐにOVH(フランスのホスティング事業者)に行って、ドメイン名が取得可能だと確認しました」

「こういった目的の下に、きっちり組織化され、十分な資金のある組織団体があるのは、危険なことだと思います」と、アントニン氏は付け加えた。「本当に危険です」

他のドメインを「不法占拠する者」たちは、アドレスを大金で売っている。しかしアントニン氏はウェブサイトを反ユダヤ主義や人種差別主義と闘う団体を立ち上げるために使うつもりだと話している。

アントニン氏は、ブライトバートの誰からも、このアドレスに関する連絡はきていないと言う。

しかし、この学生の努力は無駄になるかもしれない。ロンドンとエルサレムのブライトバート支局は、現在、個別ドメインではなく、本部サイトのURLを拡張した中に置かれている。

たとえば、ロンドン局のウェブサイトは、「breitbart.co.uk」ではなく、「breitbart.com/london」で見つかる。

ブライトバート・ニュースの広報は『ザ・バージ』に対し、ドイツとフランスへの進出計画について「まだ報告できることはない」が、「数カ月」のうちに再度確認をする、と語った。
