バドミントン日本男子、韓国に敗退 空調「明らかにおかしかった」とコーチ

アジア大会のバドミントン団体の男子準々決勝で日本は韓国に敗れた。この試合中に、韓国を後押しするような空調操作があったのではないかという疑惑が浮上している。

韓国・仁川で開催中のアジア大会3日目の9月21日、バドミントン団体の男子準々決勝で日本は韓国に2-3で敗れ、44年ぶりに表彰台に届かなかった。この試合中に、韓国を後押しするような「空調操作」があったのではないかという疑惑が浮上している。

第2、第3ゲームと連続して向かい風となった日本のエース・田児賢一(25)は「事前に打ち合わせしてたんじゃないの」と激怒。日本代表の舛田コーチも審判本部に抗議した。スポニチなどが報じた。

21―12で奪った第1ゲームは無風だったが、第2ゲームに入ると、田児を向かい風が襲う。コートチェンジした第3ゲームは風向きが変わるはずだが、空調が意図的に操作されたのか、なぜか再び向かい風。シャトルは軽く、風の影響を受けやすいため、向かい風だと圧倒的に不利だ。1―2と逆転で落とし、「途中で風が変わるなんて、他の国じゃありえない。事前に打ち合わせしてたんじゃないの。だって韓国の選手は面食らってなかったでしょ」と吐き捨てた。

第2ゲーム中に審判本部に抗議した日本代表の舛田コーチは、怒りを通り越し、あきれていた。「風が明らかにおかしかった。都合が良すぎる」。隣のコートでプレーし、風の影響を受けて大逆転負けを喫したインドネシア選手からも、「おまえらがコートを移動したら風向きが変わった」と言われたという。日本オリンピック委員会(JOC)に提出する報告書にもこの件について記載し、問題提起する構えだ。

この日の会場は、試合前から風が強かったという。

バドミントンの試合が行われている桂陽体育館について、韓国のイ・ヨンデ選手は「(エアコンによる)風の影響が多く、照明のために、シャトルが見えないこともあり、プレーに支障がある部分が多かった」と述べている

大会組織委員会は八百長の可能性はないと一蹴しているが、会場は試合の記録用紙が吹き飛ぶほど、風が強かったとされており、イ・ヨンデ選手は「幸いなことに、試合前3〜4日ほど訓練をしたことで、風に順応しやすくなった」とも話しているという。
