アサド大統領、アメリカCBSテレビに出演「化学兵器使用の証拠はない」

シリアのアサド大統領は、アメリカCBSテレビとの会見で、アメリカがシリア軍事介入を準備する要因となった8月21日の首都ダマスカス郊外での「化学兵器攻撃」について、自身の関与を否定し、化学兵器と断定する証拠もないと主張した。

その中でアサド氏は「私が国民に対し化学兵器を使ったという証拠はない」と述べ、首都ダマスカス郊外での化学兵器使用疑惑への関与をあらためて否定した

同時にアサド氏は、アメリカなどによるシリアへの攻撃があった場合は報復する考えも示唆したという。オバマ大統領がシリアへの軍事介入の決断を表明し、緊迫した情勢が続く中で、アメリカを強くけん制した発言だ

■ イラン・イラク両外相が会談 軍事介入反対を確認

イランのザリフ外相は9月8日、イラクの首都バグダッドを訪問、同国のマリキ首相やジバリ外相らと会談した。双方は、化学兵器使用疑惑をめぐり米国などが検討するシリアへの軍事介入に反対する立場を確認した

ザリフ氏は会談後、国連安全保障理事会の決議がない武力行使は「違法」と主張。オバマ大統領について「個人的願望に反し、他人が仕掛けたわなにはまろうとしている。そこから抜け出すことを期待する」と述べた

■ 反体制派、キリスト教徒の町マールーラを占拠

シリア・ダマスカス北方約55キロのキリスト教徒の町マールーラで、イスラム過激派を含む反体制派武装勢力がアサド政権側部隊と衝突、8日までに町を制圧した

マールーラはシリア南西部にある町でダマスカスの北東約60キロメートル、アンティレバノン山脈の標高約1600メートルの山間に位置する。キリスト教徒が多く居住し、現在もアラム語が話される。聖サルキス修道院、聖テクラ修道院があることで知られる

■ オバマ政権が一部議員に提示した「現場映像」、CNNが入手

シリアの首都ダマスカス近郊で先月21日に化学兵器が使われたとされる問題で、オバマ米政権が上院での非公開会合で上映した現場映像をCNNが入手した

オバマ政権はシリア政権が化学兵器を使用したとして軍事介入を主張し、議会への説得工作を進めている。このビデオは化学兵器の被害者を映したもので、アメリカ情報当局が本物であることを確認したという。【閲覧注意:リンク先のビデオ動画には、人によって一部不快と感じる映像が含まれています】

一方、ワシントンD.C.市内で7日、シリアに対するアメリカの軍事行動に反対する市民デモが行われ、スローガンが書かれたプラカードや横断幕を掲げた参加者らが、ホワイトハウスから連邦議会議事堂までの道のりを行進した
