曽野綾子氏コラムめぐり南アフリカ大使も抗議 産経新聞に対して

産経新聞社は14日、同紙に掲載された曽野綾子氏のコラムに人種隔離を許容する内容が含まれているとして、南アフリカ大使から抗議を受けたことを明らかにした。

産経新聞11日付朝刊に掲載された曽野綾子氏のコラム

産経新聞社は2月14日、同紙の11日付朝刊に掲載された作家、曽野綾子氏のコラムにアパルトヘイト(人種隔離)を許容する内容が含まれているとして、南アフリカのモハウ・ペコ駐日大使らから抗議を受けたことを明らかにした。毎日新聞などが報じた。

問題視されているのは、産経新聞11日付朝刊の「労働力不足と移民」と題したコラム。曽野氏は労働力不足を緩和するための移民受け入れに言及し、「20〜30年も前に南アフリカ共和国の実情を知って以来、私は、居住区だけは、白人、アジア人、黒人というふうに分けて住む方がいい、と思うようになった」などと書いた。

同紙によると、ペコ大使は「アパルトヘイトを許容し、美化した。行き過ぎた、恥ずべき提案」と指摘。アパルトヘイトの歴史をひもとき、「政策は人道に対する犯罪。21世紀において正当化されるべきではなく、世界中のどの国でも、肌の色やほかの分類基準によって他者を差別してはならない」としているという。

NPO法人「アフリカ日本協議会」も産経新聞社と曽野氏に抗議している。

コラムをめぐっては、Twitterで問題視する声が広がり、ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルなど海外メディアが批判的に報じた

産経新聞は小林毅・東京編集局長名で「当該記事は曽野綾子氏の常設コラムで、曽野氏ご本人の意見として掲載しました。コラムについてさまざまなご意見があるのは当然のことと考えております。産経新聞は、一貫してアパルトヘイトはもとより、人種差別などあらゆる差別は許されるものではないとの考えです」とのコメントを出した
