チュニジアの首都チュニスで3月18日、国会議事堂近くにあるバルドー博物館に武装グループが襲撃し、立てこもった。チュニジアのハビブ・シド首相は、外国人観光客17人を含む19人が死亡したと述べた。ハフポストマグレブ版が報じた。

外国人観光客には、ポーランド人、ドイツ人、イタリア人、スペイン人が含まれるという。また、少なくとも22人が負傷したという。一部メディアは、犯人は博物館に立てこもったが治安部隊が2人を射殺したと報じた。一方で実行犯数人が逃走中とも報じられており、情報は錯綜している。

朝日新聞デジタルによると、日本人2人が負傷して病院に搬送され、1人は足に重傷を負っているという。日本大使館が確認を急いでいる。

18日朝、国会議事堂とその周辺から銃声が聞こえた。チュニジア与党アンナハダのクルスーム・バドレディン議員はハフポストマグレブ版に「銃声はバルドー博物館から聞こえた」と述べた。その後、警察はその場にいた人々を避難させたという。

チュニジア軍の治安部隊がバルドー博物館に突入

アンナハダのサイーダ・オウニッシ議員はTwitterで法務大臣、検察官、そして数人の軍関係者が現場近くにいたと述べた。彼らは反テロリズムとマネーロンダリングを取り締まる法案について会見を行っていたという。

チュニジアでは、2011年1月に中東の民主化運動「アラブの春」のきっかけとなった「ジャスミン革命」によって長期独裁を行っていたジン・アビディン・ベンアリ元大統領が退陣した。2011年10月に行われた議会選挙では、イスラム政党「アンナハダ」が第一党となった。2014年末に行われた大統領選では世俗派政党「ニダチュニス」党首のベジ・カイドセブシ氏が当選し、シド氏が首相に任命され、2015年2月5日にニダチュニス、アンナハダを含む連立政権が樹立していた。

チュニジアは中東の中でも比較的民主化のプロセスを進めていたが、一方で国内では「アンサール・アル・シャリーア」などイスラム過激派組織の活動が活発化していた。
