ベルギー首相、マヨネーズで襲われる そこに込められた深い理由とは【動画】

ベルギーのシャルル・ミシェル首相が、女性の活動家らにマヨネーズで襲われた。なぜ活動家らはマヨネーズを使ったのか。そこには深い理由があった。

ベルギーのシャルル・ミシェル首相が12月22日、同国南部ナミュールで開催されたビジネスカンファレンスでの講演中に、女性の活動家らにマヨネーズで襲われた。ミシェル氏の進める緊縮政策への抗議だという。現地紙のLe Soirなどが報じた。

ミシェル氏を襲ったのは「LitihS」というグループ。トップレスで抗議活動を行うことで有名な「FEMEN」の元メンバーで、学生だという。活動家らは「ミシェルは出て行け! 緊縮も追放!」というスローガンと共に、フライドポテトやマヨネーズをミシェル氏にぶちまけた。

ミシェル氏は、2014年10月に首相に就任すると、老齢年金の受給年齢を引き上げる一方、公共サービス予算や企業の社会保険負担を削減する方針を打ち出した。ベルギー政府の債務残高は依然としてGDP比で約104%と高止まりしており、債務残高の削減が課題となっているためだ。

ミシェル政権はさらに労働者の収入カットや労働時間延長なども行い、多くの国民が反発。大規模なデモやストが行われ、12月15日にはブリュッセル空港が一時閉鎖される事態も発生した。

「フライドポテトにかけられるのは、もう緊縮ソースしか残っていない」とLitihSのメンバーは言う。実はフライドポテトはベルギー発祥の食べ物。現地では「フリッツ」と呼ばれ、ケチャップの代わりにたっぷりのマヨネーズが添えられるのが伝統的な食べ方だ。

「だから私たちは、ベルギーシンボルを彼らの顔に投げつけたのです。彼らはベルギーを解体しようとしています」
