米共和党のジェブ・ブッシュ元フロリダ州知事(62)は15日、同州マイアミで開いた集会で、2016年米大統領選挙への出馬を正式に表明した。共和党の指名争いに名乗りを上げた候補者は11人となった。

ブッシュ氏は、当地の大学で演説し、ワシントンが機能不全に陥っていると批判。「ワシントン自体が問題の原因になっているような現状を是正しようではないか。われわれにはそれが可能だ」と強調した。

この日の集会には、90歳になる母親のバーバラ・ブッシュさんも姿を見せた。大統領経験者である父親と実兄はともに出席しなかった。

ブッシュ氏は、出馬の可能性を初めて示唆した6カ月前には共和党有権者の支持率でリードしていたが、今では混戦状態になっている。

ブッシュ氏は、民主党から出馬したヒラリー・クリントン前国務長官の外交政策について「危機や暴力を解決できなかった」と批判した。[マイアミ 15日 ロイター]
