気象庁は4月2日、東京都心で桜が満開になったことを発表した。
気象庁によると、満開宣言は平年に比べて1日早く、昨年より2日遅いという。同庁の職員が、東京・靖国神社の標本木（ソメイヨシノ）で確認して発表に至った。
東京・上野恩賜公園は2日、大勢の花見客で賑わっている。
