トルコ最大の都市イスタンブールのアタチュルク国際空港で6月28日、3人の自爆テロ犯が爆弾を爆発させ、少なくとも32人が死亡、88人が負傷した。AFPなどが報じた。

トルコのボズダ―法相は「3人の容疑者のうちの1人は自動小銃を乱射させた」と述べた。トルコの政府高官はワールドポストの取材に「警察は空港の保安検査ゲートの外側で容疑者たちに発砲した」と述べている。また、容疑者はゲート前で爆発物を爆発させたという。

「警察は国際線ターミナルの入り口でセキュリティチェックの前に容疑者に発砲し、容疑者を制圧しようとした」と政府高官は述べた。

SNSに投稿された現場の映像では、流血した負傷者がイスタンブール市内へのタクシー乗り場ターミナルの外で横たわっている。

現場の目撃者はトルコのメディア「Haberturk」に、「襲撃が起きた時、私は母親が飛行機に搭乗する付き添いで来ていました」と述べた。「私はすぐに駐車場に行き、みんなちりぢりになって逃げていきました」

トルコ最大のアタチュルク国際空港は、イスタンブールに繋がる主要国際空港だ。地元メディアによると、襲撃事件が発生した時すべてのフライトが中断し、Facebook社は周辺地域の安全確認情報を流した。

ターミナルにいた女性の話によると、国内線ターミナルの旅行者たちは親族などに電話をかけ、インフォメーションセンターに待機していた。その女性は事件発生当時、空港職員や警備が誰もいなくなったため、ニュースで最新の状況を把握していたという。

トルコはこの数カ月、観光客と警察を狙った攻撃にさらされ続けている。これまでの攻撃については’自称IS(イスラム国)の戦闘員が犯行声明を出している一方で、トルコ南部で政府と戦闘を続けるクルド人武装勢力は、他に犯行グループがいると主張している。
