軍によるクーデターに揺れるエジプトで5日、モルシ前大統領の支持派が大規模な抗議デモを行い、一部で軍や反大統領派との間で投石や火炎瓶を使った衝突が発生している。

モルシ氏の出身母体のイスラム組織「ムスリム同胞団」などは5日午後、各地で大規模な抗議デモを行った。朝日新聞デジタルによると、金曜日はイスラム教の集団礼拝日に当たり、民主化運動「アラブの春」が起きた2011年には、金曜日ごとに大規模デモが起きた。同胞団などは「拒絶の金曜日」として、モルシ氏を解任した軍の不当性を訴えるため、デモ参加を呼びかけた。

デモには、一時エジプト当局に拘束されたと伝えられていたムスリム同胞団トップのバディヤ団長が姿を現し、「モルシ氏が大統領職に戻るまで抗議行動を続ける」と述べ、あくまでも平和的に抗議を続ける構えを示した。しかし、カイロ市内にある大統領警備隊の本部近くでは、モルシ氏の支持者と軍の衝突で、少なくとも3人が死亡したほか、中心部のタハリール広場の近くでは、モルシ氏の支持者とモルシ氏の退陣を求めてきた勢力が火炎瓶や石を投げ合うなど、各地で衝突が起きたことをNHKは伝えている。

ロイターによると、エジプトのマンスール暫定大統領は5日、諮問評議会(上院)の解散を命じた。下院に相当する人民議会は、1年前の大統領選の直前に軍主導で解散させられている。

暫定政権の組閣も水面下で進んでいるとみられ、首相候補として、国際原子力機関(IAEA)前事務局長で、2012年の大統領選挙の候補者としても名前があがったエルバラダイ氏が浮上している。アメリカ国務省は、ケリー国務長官がエルバラダイ氏と電話会談を行ったことを明らかにしたと産経新聞が伝えている。

朝日新聞デジタルによると、アフリカ大陸の地域機関であるアフリカ連合(AU)は5日、エジプトのAUへの加盟資格を停止することを決めた。憲法を無視した政権交代に反発した。AUの平和・安全保障理事会の幹部は「憲法の秩序が回復されるまで、AUの活動へのエジプトの参加を停止する」と語った。
