モルシ前大統領支持派のデモが続くエジプトの首都カイロ郊外ナスルシティーで、26日深夜から27日朝にかけ、警察の治安部隊がデモ隊を攻撃し、国営中東通信によると75人が死亡、1千人が負傷した。暫定政府側が武力でモルシ派の排除に踏み切ったのは初めてで、今月3日のクーデター後で最大の惨事となった。暫定政府は48時間以内にデモ隊を強制排除すると警告しており、混乱が続くエジプト情勢は重大な局面を迎えた。

CNNによると、衝突の激化は、エジプトの裁判所が26日出したムルシ氏の15日間の拘束命令などが背景にある。地元メディアによると、拘束理由はムルシ氏が大統領就任前の2011年、パレスチナ自治区ガザを支配するイスラム組織「ハマス」と共謀し、自らを含むムスリム同胞団のメンバー11人が脱獄した事件となっている。

NHKによると、モルシ氏の支持母体であるムスリム同胞団は、治安部隊がデモの参加者の頭などを狙って実弾を撃ったと主張し、あくまで抗議行動を続ける構えで、参加者の1人は「たとえ殺されてもここを離れない」と反発している。

これに対し、治安部隊を統括するイブラヒム内相は記者会見し「治安部隊はデモ隊と付近の住民が衝突したのを制止するために催涙弾などを使っただけだ」と述べ、対応に問題はなかったと反論した。

今月3日のクーデターでモルシ氏を追放した軍の全面的な支援を受ける暫定政権と、イスラム組織ムスリム同胞団などモルシ派の対立は決定的となり、エジプトの混乱は長期化しそうだ
