アメリカ・コネティカット州サフィールドの警察は2月19日、地域住民に「乳製品を売りつけようとする牛がいるから、家のドアを開けないように」と、冗談半分に警告した。

もし斑点のあるセールスマンが2人あなたの家に来たら、ただ「ノー」と言ってください。

これは2月19日に、逃げ出した牛がサフィールドの民家の外で写真に撮られた後、コネティカット州の警察が伝えたメッセージだ。

せっかくだから少し楽しもうと、警察はこの牛の脱走犯を、「乳製品を訪問販売するセールスマン」と表現した。

「今朝早く、あやしい者たちが乳製品を個人宅に売り歩いているとの苦情に警官が対応しました」と警察がFacebookに投稿した。「その怪しい者は行商許可証を所持していなかったため、警官が少し歩いて逮捕しました。見知らぬ牛には決してドアを開けないよう、みなさん注意してください」

ジェフリー・マイナー巡査部長は地元紙「ウェスタン・マス・ニュース」に、「道路脇や民家の庭をうろついている牛がいると警察に通報があった」と語った。

警官が発見したとき、牛は民家の玄関前にいた。

「奴らがそこにいたとき、パトカーを停めて写真を撮りました。あの人の家の玄関前ですよ」と、マイナー氏はウェスタン・マス・ニュースに言った。

写真をとった後 (写真はすでに7500回以上シェアされている)、警官は2頭を農場へと連れ帰るのを手伝った。

マイナー氏は、壊れたフェンスから牛が脱走したとみている。
