IS(イスラム国)のイラク拠点・ファルージャ陥落 アバディ首相「次はモスルだ」

イラクのアバディ首相は6月17日、過激派組織IS(イスラム国)が2014年から支配していた西部の都市ファルージャを奪還したと宣言した。

イラク軍は5月23日からファルージャ奪還の軍事作戦を開始し、住民に安全な場所に避難するよう呼びかけていた。軍事作戦が進む中、ISは住民を「人間の盾」にして抵抗していた。また、戦闘員が避難民に紛れて脱出を図ろうとし、500人近くを拘束していた。

政府軍はファルージャ南方と東方の2方面から中心部に進み、行政庁舎がある地域を制圧した。政府側は行政庁舎にイラク国旗を掲げた

アバディ首相はテレビ演説で「約束通り、我々イラク軍部隊がファルージャを解放した」と述べ、Twitterにも奪還作戦が成功したと述べた。

ファルージャは国の手に戻った。次の戦闘はモスルだ。ダーイシュ(イスラム国)は敗北するだろう。

ファルージャは首都バグダッドから西方約56キロにあり、旧サダム・フセイン大統領政権の中枢を担ったイスラム教スンニ派が多数を占める。2014年にISが掌握し、バグダッド攻略の拠点となっていた
