イギリスで開かれている体操の世界選手権の男子団体で、日本が37年ぶりとなる金メダルを獲得した。オリンピックも含めると、日本が団体で金メダルを獲得したのは2004年のアテネオリンピック以来11年ぶりとなる。
日本は内村航平（コナミスポーツク）、田中佑典（同）、加藤凌平（順大）、早坂尚人（同）、萱和磨（同）、白井健三（日体大）のメンバーで出場、6種目で合計270.818点を獲得した。時事ドットコムなどが伝えた。
日本は１種目目のゆかから中国などを抑えて首位に立ち、エースの内村が６種目全てに出場し、最後の鉄棒で落下するミスはあったが、５種目で高得点を挙げた。
内村は世界選手権８個目の金メダルを獲得し、監物永三の７個を上回る日本選手最多となった。
