宇多田ヒカル、6年ぶり映像公開 朝ドラ曲MVに全編出演
シンガー・ソングライターの宇多田ヒカルが、NHK連続テレビ小説『とと姉ちゃん』主題歌として毎朝流れる「花束を君に」のミュージックビデオ（MV）に全編にわたって出演したことが1日、わかった。3月にアーティスト活動再開を発表後、近影は公開されているが、公式映像は本人監督／出演のMV「Goodbye Happiness」（2010年11月）以来、約6年ぶりとなる。
「花束を君に」のMVは、『とと姉ちゃん』のオープニング映像を担当した切り絵作家・辻恵子氏が手がけたアニメーションバージョンを4月に公開。ドラマ人気とあいまって、配信は50万ダウンロードを突破するヒットとなったことから、同曲が収録される約8年半のオリジナルアルバム『Fantome』（9月28日発売）のリリースを前に、新たに宇多田本人が出演するMVを制作することが決まった。
監督を務めたのは、宇多田のヒット曲「Addicted To You」（99年）、「Wait＆See ～リスク～」（00年）のMVやライブビデオを手がけてきた竹石渉氏。宇多田とは「Prisoner Of Love」（08年）のMV以来、8年ぶりのタッグとなる。
自身初の朝ドラ主題歌を担当するにあたって宇多田は「国民的な番組なので、意識的にいつにも増して間口を広げる作詞をしました。オフコースとかチューリップ、エルトン・ジョンの『タイニーダンサー』をイメージして軽やかな感じに“開いてる”曲を目指して」と説明する。そんな楽曲に込めた想いがストレートに伝わるようにと、MVは装飾を極力削ぎ落として撮影された。
歌詞にある「涙色」=「無色透明」という宇多田のイメージを表現するため、あえて色彩のない全編モノクロ作品に。関係者によると、スタッフとともに完成したMVを観た宇多田は感激していたという。
同MVは、公式サイトおよび動画サイト「GYAO！」で公開中。
