香港デモ、民主派が政府庁舎を包囲「抗議活動をエスカレートさせる」 警官隊と大規模衝突

香港で行政長官選挙制度の民主化を求めて中心部の道路占拠を続けるデモ隊が11月30日夜、数千人規模の集会を行い、金鐘(アドミナルティ)にある政府本部を包囲して警官隊と衝突、多数のけが人と逮捕者が出た。

香港政府のトップである行政長官の選挙制度が、事実上民主派の候補を排除していることに対する抗議から9月28日にデモが発生した。デモ隊は警察からの催涙ガスや放水などに傘で対抗し、「傘の革命」と呼ばれるようになった。デモ隊は金鐘や繁華街の旺角(モンコック)といった香港の中心地の道路にバリケードを築いて占拠し、香港行政府に対話を呼びかけ、参加者は数万人規模に達した

デモを率いる学生団体の代表は10月21日、香港政府と初めての対話を行ったが平行線に終わり、デモの継続を宣言。しかし道路の占拠が長期間に及んだことから市民からの反発が次第に強くなり、行政府も11月18日以降、バリケードの撤去を初め強制排除に乗り出した。26日には旺角から障害物とデモ隊が完全排除され、幹線道路が開通した。デモの規模は縮小を余儀なくされ、拠点を金鐘にほぼ集中させた。

AP通信によると、危機感を募らせた学生団体は30日、金鐘のデモの規模を拡大させるため「抗議活動をさらにエスカレートさせる」ことを表明、これまで通り非暴力で対抗する姿勢を見せ、政府本部や香港議会の立法会、行政長官が執務を行う弁公室などを包囲し始めた。しかし実際にはデモ参加者のなかにヘルメットやゴーグル、盾などを持参し、自ら警官隊と衝突する者もいた。

学生団体によると、警官隊は少なくともデモ参加者の5人を逮捕、その後もにらみ合いが続いた。
