オバマ米大統領は13日、イラクで過激派武装組織が勢力を拡大していることについて、同国政府に対しどのような支援を行うか数日間検討する必要があるとの認識を示した。 ただ米軍を再びイラクに派遣することはないと言明した。

[ワシントン 13日 ロイター] - オバマ米大統領は13日、イラクで過激派武装組織が勢力を拡大していることについて、同国政府に対しどのような支援を行うか数日間検討する必要があるとの認識を示した。

ただ米軍を再びイラクに派遣することはないと言明した。

大統領はホワイトハウスで記者団に対し、支援の実施にはイラク政府の一段の関与が条件になると強調。「共に行動することを保証したイラク政府の計画なしに米軍が軍事行動に関与することはない」と述べた。

米国の行動が「的を絞った的確で効果的」なものになるようイラク情勢について検討したいとし、議会とも協議する考えを示した。

イスラム教スンニ派の過激派武装組織「イラク・レバントのイスラム国(ISIL)」が勢力を拡大しているが、オバマ大統領はこれまでのところイラクの原油供給に大きな混乱はないと指摘した。

ただ武装組織が石油関連施設を支配下に置けば、中東の他の産油国が「不足分を補う」必要に迫られると述べた。

その上で「この点についても今週検討する」と語った。
