錦織圭「ツアーファイナルズ」出場試合をBS朝日で生中継

プロテニスプレーヤーの錦織圭が日本人初出場を決めた「ATP ワールドツアーファイナルズ」が英ロンドンで9日に開幕。錦織が出場予定のグループステージ3 試合をBS朝日で完全生中継することが決まった。

今シーズン、ATP（男子プロテニス協会）主催のツアーで2週連続を含む4勝を挙げ、全米オープンでは決勝進出を果たすなど日本テニス界の歴史を次々と塗り替えた錦織。最新の世界ランキング（エントリー・ランキング）でも5位にまで上り詰め、自身の持つ日本人過去最高位を更新し、アジア勢として初の「ツアーファイナルズ」への出場権を獲得した。

同大会は、年間成績上位8人のみに出場権が与えられる年間王者決定戦。8人のプレーヤーを2グループに分けて各組それぞれ総当たりを行い、各グループの戦績上位2人が準決勝、決勝へと勝ち進む。ダブルスも8組が出場し、同様に行われる。

出場は、【グループA】ノバク・ジョコビッチ（セルビア／1位）、スタン・ワウリンカ（スイス／4位）、トマーシュ・ベルディヒ（チェコ／7位）、マリン・チリッチ（クロアチア／9位）、【グループB】ロジャー・フェデラー（スイス／2位）、錦織圭（日本／5位）、アンディ・マレー（英国／6位）、ミロシュ・ラオニッチ（カナダ／8位）。

錦織のグループステージ第1試合は、9日にマレーとの対戦が決定。全ての試合でグランドスラム決勝さながらの組み合わせが実現する。
