子豚のローラと子猫のマリーナは、出会った瞬間から大の仲良しだ。
ローラとマリーナは、チリのサンチアゴにある動物保護施設「Santuario Igualdad Interespecie」（全ての生き物にとっての避難所）で暮らしている。2匹とも、母親を失った後に保護され、連れてこられた。
子猫のマリーナは道に捨てられているところを発見された。病気で体が弱っていて、化膿した目には膿が溜まっていた。幸運にも通りすがりの人に拾われ、施設に届けられた。
一方、ローラは、動物保護活動家たちの手によって食肉処理場から助けられた。繁殖用の豚だったローラの母親は、動くことができないほど小さなケージに閉じ込められ、食用の子豚をひたすら生まされていたそうだ。
食肉処理場では、麻酔無しで豚のしっぽを切ったり歯を抜いたりもしていたという。
保護施設に連れてこられた時、ローラは怖がって震えていたそうだ。
しかしマリーナが目に入ると、ローラの震えは止まった。
その時から、2匹はいつも一緒だ。共に遊んだり寝たりしている下の動画を見て、癒されない人などいるだろうか？
見た目や中身が全く違っても関係ない。大切なのは絆だ。2匹の友情はそう教えてくれている気がする。
保護施設のFacebookでは、2匹の情報がもっと紹介されている。
また、ウェブサイト（スペイン語）では寄付も受け付けている。
