2009年6月に亡くなった歌手マイケル・ジャクソンが、生前大量のポルノ写真を所持していたことが、当時の捜査当局が作成した報告書で明らかになった。その中には子供の写真や、動物を虐待した写真なども含まれ、幼い少年たちを誘惑するために使われたという。

芸能サイト「レーダー・オンライン」が入手した検察の内部文書には、 2003 年11月に行われたマイケル・ジャクソンの自宅「ネバーランド」に対する家宅捜索の様子が詳細に書かれている。この家宅捜索は、ジャクソンに対する児童性的虐待容疑に関する捜査の一環として行われた。

捜査にあたったサンタバーバラ郡地区検察がこれまで非公開にしていた報告書によると、当局は80本以上のビデオ、パソコンのハードディスク、さらにはノート、日記、文書、写真、音声テープなどを押収した。

捜査を担当したサンタバーバラ郡地区検察のロン・ゾーネン元検事はレーダー・オンラインに対し、発見された押収物の多くは子供たちの「感覚を麻痺させる」ために使われたと述べた。

検察の報告書には、ジャクソンの私有地から見つかった証拠物について記載されている。報告書によると、本や画像は「『性的なわいせつ行為』をする目的で子供を誘惑するために利用され、被害者の自制心を失わせ、わいせつ行為を容易にできる」ように用意されたものと記されている。

ジャクソンの所有物から見つかった本の一冊は「ルーム・トゥ・プレイ」と題され、「子供たちの写真が数多く含まれていた」という。報告書によると、写真のなかには子供の顔を陰部を見せた大人の体と合成したものもあった。

検察は、ネバーランドにある従業員用の休憩室の保管庫からも、子供の写真を大量に発見した。

ジャクソンは児童性的虐待7件と犯罪目的で薬物を投与した2件の容疑で2003年11月20日に逮捕された。6月に少年が性的虐待で告訴したことを受けての捜査だった。14週間に及ぶ審理を経て、カリフォルニア州サンタバーバラ郡地裁は2005年6月13日、すべての罪について無罪を言い渡した

ジャクソンは2009年6月25日、麻酔薬プロポフォールの過剰投与により死亡した。
