モスクワ地下鉄脱線事故で、事故調査委員会は7月16日、地下鉄公社の整備主任と助手を拘束し、事情聴取を行っていることを明らかにした。インタファクス通信などによると、この事故では22人が死亡した。

2人は安全上の義務を怠った疑いで近く訴追される見通し。

地下鉄公社は5月から電車の進路を変えるポイントの設置作業を続けており、2人は監督する立場にあった。事故調査委は声明で、「作業が適切に行われていなかった」との見方を示した。

また、ロシア連邦捜査委員会のマルキン報道官は16日、事故の原因について、ポイントが十分に固定されていなかったとの見方を示した。ポイントを固定するワイヤが切れていたという。

この事故では、22人が死亡、140人が重軽傷を負い、モスクワの地下鉄事故としては過去最悪規模となった。死者には中国、タジキスタンの外国人2人が含まれていたという。

事故は朝のラッシュ時に発生。先頭の3両が脱線し、大破した車両がトンネルをふさぐように折り重なった。ドアが開かなくなり救助作業が難航したという。
