パキスタン北西部の大学に1月20日、武装勢力が襲撃し、銃を乱射した。CNNによると少なくとも21人が死亡した。治安部隊との間で銃撃戦が続き、死者はさらに増える恐れがある。

パキスタンのイスラム教武装組織「パキスタン・タリバン運動」の広報担当者は犯行を認め、今後も襲撃を続けると言明した。

CNNによると、事件が起きたのはパキスタン北西部の都市のチャルサダにあるバチャ・カーン大学。大学の治安管理担当者は、学生20人が死亡したと明らかにした。

軍の報道官はTwitterで、武装勢力4人を殺害し、すべての建物を制圧したと述べた。銃撃は止んだが、武装勢力の掃討作戦は続いているという。霧のため、掃討作戦は難航しているという。

チャルサダに近いペシャワルでは19日にも自爆テロがあり、少なくとも11人が死亡した。2014年12月には軍が運営する学校が襲撃され、140人以上が死亡した。
