ノーベル賞受賞の経済学者ポール・クルーグマン氏は、アメリカは前例のない"腐敗した統治の時代"に入っていくと語った。

クルーグマン氏は、この国はドナルド・トランプ大統領のもと、前例のない腐敗した政府の時代に入ると言い、アメリカ国民に「警戒を解くな」と警告している。

クルーグマン氏は11月21日、トランプ次期大統領を「利益追求の最高司令官」と呼び、トランプ政権で政府の方針は歪められ、拝金主義に向いていくだろうとツイートした。

クルーグマン氏は、多くのものが民営化され、利益を上げるために透明性から不明瞭へと、全般的なシフトが起こると思った方がいいだろうと語った。彼は、アメリカの政策が権威主義体制へと傾倒していくことを予言し、アメリカに大きなビジネス取引をもたらす可能性が高いだろうと、彼は付け加えた。

大統領一族に盗まれた金は些細な問題と気づくのが重要だ。100億ドルは、言ってみれば、ほんの一部であり、誤差の範囲だ 。

もっと問題なのは、政策が歪められ拝金主義の方向に進みそうなことだ。根拠のない民間インフラ投資が今まさにスタートするところだ。

多くのものが民営化され、旨味を得るために透明性から不明瞭さへの全般的なシフトが起こると思った方がいい。

また、対外政策で暴君を擁護するバイアスについても考えよう。民主主義体制‐‐例えばヨーロッパ内だが、自らのルールにより、アメリカ大統領に対する事実上の個人的賄賂の提供ができないようにしている。

プーチンのロシアや、もっと言えば、習近平の中国も、利益追求の最高司令官に巨大ビジネスを貢ぎ、両国にとって良い環境になるだろう。

そしてそれはアメリカの政策が権威主義体制に向かう原因となるだろう。警戒を緩めないようにしよう。
