「ポケモンGO」の日本国内での配信が7月22日に始まった。

任天堂などが開発したスマートフォン向けのゲームアプリ、「ポケモンGO(Pokémon GO)」の日本国内での配信が7月22日午前10時すぎから始まった。「アンドロイド」「iOS」の両方に対応している。

【編集部では早速プレイしてみました!】

ポケモンGOはスマホの画面を見ながら街を歩き、現実世界にAR(拡張現実)機能で「出現する」ポケモンを探すゲーム。捕まえたポケモンを成長させて、他の人のポケモンと戦わせることもできる。

先行するアメリカやオーストラリア、ニュージーランドなどでは7月6日以降順次配信が始まっており、ポケモンの「ふるさと」である日本でも、配信を待望する声が多くあった。

ポケモンのブランドを管理する「ポケモン」社、と米国のゲーム会社「Niantic(ナイアンティック)」、任天堂の3社が共同で企画した。

アプリのダウンロードは無料だが、アイテムなどで一部課金制度を取り入れている。

「歩きスマホ」を誘発することから、海外では夢中になって交通事故に遭ったり、立ち入り禁止地域に入ったりする事例が相次ぐ。日本政府は異例の注意喚起を行い「危険な場所に入らないで」と呼びかけていた。
