ロシアのプーチン大統領は９日、対外宣伝を強化するために国営ロシア通信を改組し新たに通信社を設立する大統領令を出した。ロシア通信は保守派からリベラル過ぎるとみなされており、メディアへの締め付け強化を示す形となった。
新設する通信社の社名は「きょうのロシア」で、国際ラジオ放送局「モスクワの声」も統合される。
大統領の権威を高めることや、ロシアの対外的なイメージを改善することが再編の狙いとみられる。
リベラル派のロシア通信編集長スヴェトラーナ・ミロニュクに代わって新会社のトップには保守派のテレビジャーナリスト、ドミトリー・キセリョフ氏が任命された。
政治アナリストのパベル・サーリン氏は今回の決定について、おそらくクレムリン内部の勢力争いで保守派が勝利したことを示すと指摘した。
「イデオロギーの大幅な転換がなされ、クレムリンの一段と強い監視の下で西側に対してタカ派的な報道がかなり増えると予想する」としている。
