さっぽろ雪まつり「魚氷」展示中止を検討 「氷漬けリンク」批判の影響で

さっぽろ雪まつり」で例年展示される氷の彫刻で、魚が氷の中を泳いでいるように見える「魚氷(さかなごおり)」について、主催者の「すすきのアイスワールド2017」実行委員会(すすきの観光協会)が次回(2017年2月)の展示中止を検討していることを、すすきの観光協会の担当者が12月16日、ハフィントンポストの取材に対し明らかにした。11月に北九州市のテーマパークが企画した魚を氷漬けにしたスケートリンクに批判が集まったことを受けての対応だという。

魚氷の展示(2009年)

魚氷をめぐっては北海道新聞が16日、「『来場者が不快な思いをしないように』と中止の方針を固めた」と報じたが、すすきの観光協会の担当者はハフィントンポストの取材に対し「現時点ではまだ中止と決まったわけではない」と説明。担当者によると「実行委員会の中にも様々な意見がある」ため、21日に開く実行委員会の会合で議論し、最終的な方針を決定をするという。

担当者によると、11月に北九州市のスペースワールドが企画した「魚を氷漬けにしたスケートリンク」に批判が殺到した報道を受けて、すすきの観光協会には「魚氷の展示を中止すべきだ」といった苦情が寄せられたという。こうした声を受けて、実行委員会では展示の中止を含めて検討することになった。

「魚氷」は魚やカニなどを埋め込んだ氷の彫刻。さっぽろ雪まつり「すすきの会場」(札幌市中央区)の名物展示で、毎年来場者の人気を集めていた。
